Ingredients
-
1 bag Organic pizza flour mix
-
1 jar Pomodoro sauce
-
1 tablespoon Pizza Spice Mix
-
Grated Parmigiano Reggiano
-
1 tomato (optional)
-
Sage leaf (optional)
-
Organic extra virgin olive oil
-
Italian sea salt
Directions
Knead the dough according to these instructions.
Let the dough rise for 1.5 hours.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Pour the risen dough onto a lightly floured surface.
Divide the dough into 4 parts and roll out 4 pizza bases.
Place the first pizza base on the prepared tray lined with parchment paper.
Spread 1/4 cup of tomato sauce evenly over the pizza base.
Sprinkle pizza seasoning and grated parmesan cheese on top.
Place another pizza base on top.
Place a glass or small bowl in the center of the dough and lightly press to create a small mark.
Using a pizza cutter, cut 10-15 slits around the circle mark in the center.
Twist the resulting strips, two by two, before the dough sticks to the parchment paper.
Garnish with a tomato in the center, sage leaves or similar, and drizzle with a little olive oil. Sprinkle with salt if desired.
Optional: let the bread rise for an additional 15-30 minutes in a warm place. Alternatively, place it directly in the oven.
Cook until the dough is cooked through and has a nice golden exterior (can adjust to your own preference).
Serve & enjoy! The bread tastes best when the cheese in the middle is still slightly soft. Enjoy warm as a snack, with soups, or as sandwich bread in lunch packs, paired with ham or slices of sausage.
