Our Story

Who we are

Made by Mama is an Italian food and homewares brand that lives at the intersection of Italian artisanship and Scandinavian design.

Each of our products is crafted by one of Italy’s most skilled and specialized artisans, from truffle hunters, to olive farmers, vinegar brewers, salt-makers, leather shapers, and coffee roasters. Every package is thoughtfully designed in Denmark.

Where we began

Made by Mama was originally founded by Danish couple Anna and Morten, who traded in a hectic life in Copenhagen for a quiet hillside existence in Tuscany. During this time they became fiercely devoted to Italian food culture and tradition, and began to discover the producers who are behind Made by Mama today.

In 2021, Anna and Morten met Amalia (aka, Maya), a Danish-American who shared their passion for simple food and an obsession with knowing where and who it comes from. They formed a partnership to allow Made by Mama’s creations to reach many new homes, and bring the essence of Scandi-Italian living into your life. 

Our mission is to bring the best of Italian food and lifestyle to our customers. We hope to inspire you to slow down, eat well, and enjoy this very moment.
